Guyanese sizzled by “All White Affair” by Carte Blanche

The executive of Carte Blanche celebrated with the pioneering patrons who participated in the inaugural incarnation of a Caribbean concept of communing with the arts and nature. The event was imaginative and breath-taking and seems to have hit the white.
The concept was borne out of the notion to appreciat

e our regional creatives in an open-air experience which was set against a backdrop of pure elegance, represented by white textures.

Georgetown was chosen to initiate this unique experience owing to the novel composition of the Eucalyptus Gardens, situated at the Theatre Guild, rich with historical significance and ordained by the distinctive presence of the therapeutic magnificence of Eucalyptus trees.
This spearhead initiative, the brainchild of

dynamic philanthropist Dr Sonia Noel and renowned regional production designer Richard Young commenced its jaunt through the Region and the Diaspora applauding and appreciating our Caribbean aesthetic, by showcasing a compendium of performing, visual, culinary, decorative, and fashion arts at the extraordinary venue.
One feature of the exposition was an auction of visual art, which was executed, live on location, by the legendary Merlene Ellis and speed performance visual artist Winston Alexander.
Performing at the event were singers Hyomi Carty and Petal Bourne as well as pan ambassador Ras Camo. Decorative arts for the space were coordinated by Shonta Noel (at Crafted by Chey); Nelsion Nurse (at Nandre’s Kreations) and the creative director himself. Fashions were presented by Vanda Allicock and Natasha David, in honour of Indigenous Heritage Month, with milliner and recycle/upcycle artist Melba La Gadoue and Dr Noel, bringing up in the finale, in fine style.
In the interest of fostering youth empowerment initiatives, Carte Blanche introduced youth advocate, feminist, and social activist Sadiya Yahya, to shed light on her social work and volunteerism.
Ron Robinson led the auction, invigorating the patrons to appreciate the artistes and contribute to the promotion of the “Living with Intention” mission, facilitated by Dr Noel, throughout the country and beyond.
Partners for this innovative enterprise include Tower Suites, DeSinco Trading for Lipton’s Tea, Spotlight Productions, Theatre Guild, Star Party Rentals, Le Treat Bakery, Pearl’s Bakery, Oasis Cafe, Ann’s Coconut Biscuits, Metro Office and Computer Supplies, Crafted by Chey, Impressions Branding, Nandre’s Kreations, and Pizza Hut.
Carte Blanche seized the opportunity to take permission to craft our style and brand it for the world to acknowledge.
