Guyanese trio wing out for Windies Women’s camp

Three of Guyana’s premier female players – Shemaine Campbelle, Shabika Gajnabi and Sheneta Grimmond –departed local shores on Monday for the training camp in Antigua.
This training camp is in preparation for the limited overs tours to Ireland and England.
Campbelle is the lone Guyanese in the 14-member squad while Gajnabi and Grimmond are the reserve players for the training camp only. The training camp in Antigua will conclude on May 20, and the 14-member squad will depart Antigua for Ireland on May 21.
The Caribbean ladies will play the Irish women in three T20 Internationals on May 26, 28 and 29. After the T20 tour to Ireland, West Indies Women will play the defending One-Day International (ODI) World Cup winners, England in three ODIs as part of the ICC Women’s Championships. The first of the three matches will commence from June 6, followed by the second match on June 9.
The tour in England will sign off when West Indies Women play England in three T20 Internationals on June 18, 21 and 25. Stafanie Taylor, who is currently in India playing the Women’s T20 challenge, will lead the Windies Women on both tours. Her deputy will be Barbados’ winning Super50 and T20 Blaze Captain, Hayley Matthews, who is also on duty in India.
Shakera Selman, who is also in India playing in the Women’s T20 challenge, will join the camp after the tournament in India.
