Guyoil increases kero, diesel prices

As the price for gasoline has been incrementally increasing over the past few days, the Guyana Oil Company Limited (Guyoil), which is Guyana’s leading petroleum company, has also increased the prices for both kerosene and diesel fuel.

These prices were adjusted based on the world stock market and will affect not only the other sectors but consumers nationwide.
Kerosene, which was priced at $130, is now $137 per litre; while diesel, which was $188, has now raised to $204 per litre. Gasoline, which has been on the increase in the past months, is now priced at $204 per litre. However, at other privately owned service stations, the prices are said to be higher.
In September 2017, world market prices for fuel were already increased due to the hurricane conditions in the southern hemisphere, which resulted in Guyoil adjusting the prices in gasoline, diesel and kerosene to a higher cost. Gasoline, a common commodity, was increased by $14 per litre.
