This tape ball competition will be played on Saturdays, when countrywide members and staff of the GWI will participate.
Speaking to Guyana Times Sport, Managing Director of the Guyana Water Inc. (GWI), Dr Richard Van West-Charles, explained that the competition is among the ongoing programmes of social and educational activities arranged for the GWI’s staff members across Guyana. He highlighted that a successful football competition was played by GWI staff members recently.
Van West-Charles added that it is compulsory for the GWI female staff members to participate in the lively tape ball tournament, and it will be played in a franchise-like manner, where Berbice GWI staff members are likely to play for Georgetown GWI.
In addition to the cricket competition, dominoes and karaoke competitions will be among the numerous competitions planned.
GWI aims to integrate the company and play tape ball cricket nationally; where members of the public and staff members of GWI will be able to interact with each other.
