GWI employee slapped with robbery charge

A 20-year-old man on Monday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts after he was slapped with two charges of robbery with aggravation.
Randy Bowen, of Duncan Street, Kitty, Georgetown, is accused of robbing two persons while in the company of others in the vicinity of Irving Street, Georgetown.
The court heard that on March 16, 2018 at Irving Street, Bowen robbed Jillian Delouse of one black Alcatel cellphone valued $24,000.
Further, it is alleged that also on March 16 at Irving Street, Georgetown, in the company of others, Bowen robbed Royston Beveny of a cellphone worth $21,000.
According to the prosecution’s case, the Virtual Complainants (VCs) were waiting on transportation at Irving Street, Georgetown when Bowen, along with others, approached them and demanded the cellphones.
A report was subsequently made at the Kitty Police Station and the main suspect was identified and arrested. The court heard that a search was carried out on Bowen and one of the phones was found.
Bail was granted by Magistrate Judy Latchman in the sum of $200,000. The case will continue on April 9, 2018.
