Hairdresser, make-up artist allegedly rob several during wedding ceremony

A make-up artist, a hair dresser and a taxi driver were arrested on Sunday evening after they reportedly robbed several persons at a wedding at La Union, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
The victims are a 49-year-old painter of La Union, WCD, a 29-year-old carpenter of Linden, a 28-year-old Barbadian national, a 24-year-old male of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, a 53-year-old businessman, of La Union, WCD, and a 30-year-old US-based female.
Police stated that on the day in question between 15:00h and 18:00h at La Union, WCD, the victims were robbed by the three individuals.
The victims were robbed of two Samsung A52 cellular phones, two Samsung S8 cellular phones, one G Shock watch, one gold chain, one silver chain, BAR $600, one Apple Watch, one Samsung S9 cell phone and US$275.
Investigations revealed that the victims who are all relatives were staying at the same address with their personal belongings in different rooms. At the time of the incident, they were attending a wedding ceremony of another relative.
During the celebrations at about 15:00h, the victims and other family members went to the groom’s residence at Stewartville, WCD, and returned home at about 16:20h. However, about 20 minutes later, the hairdresser and make-up artist left the home.
At about 18:00h, the victims went to their rooms where they observed the articles missing. Soon after realising that they were robbed, the two suspects along with their taxi driver were invited back to the home where they were arrested.
They were taken to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station where they were interrogated as investigations continue.
