Hairdresser remanded on narco trafficking charge

A Regent Street, Bourda, Georgetown hairdresser was on Monday remanded to prison when she appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly slapped with a narcotics trafficking charge.
Odessa Dublin denied that on December 29, 2018, at her Lot 123 Regent Street, Bourda home she had in her possession 520 grams of cannabis.
Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh informed the court that on Saturday, Police ranks swooped down on Dublin’s home where they conducted a search. According to the prosecutor, the law enforcement officers unearthed a concealed parcel which contained several ziplock bags with leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis. The drug was found in Dublin’s bedroom. The prosecution is also contending that the woman confessed to ownership of the drugs.
Magistrate Daly remanded the mother of five to prison. The case will continue on January 21, 2019.
