Hampton Court man commits suicide

A man from Hampton Court Village, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), ended his life tragically Wednesday after allegedly experiencing problems within his home circle. He was discovered hanging around 16:30h in the upper flat of his parents’ home.
According to information reaching Guyana Times the deceased, 19, a labourer, was an alcoholic and having family issues.
About 10:00h on Wednesday, the deceased’s mother Chanwattie Baldeo, left the son at home and ventured to her rice field. When she returned at around 16:30h and called out for her son, there was no response. The mother then checked the upper flat of the house, where she discovered the young man hanging from the ceiling.
In shock, the mother alerted neighbours.
A report was made to the Anna Regina Police Station. The body was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where the lad was pronounced dead. The body is currently at the Suddie Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
