Handyman found dead died of natural causes – autopsy

A post-mortem examination (PME) conducted on the remains of 58-year-old Phillip Ketwaru, who was found dead in an alleyway at Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara (ECD), on Sunday, revealed that he died as a result of bleeding stomach ulcers.

Dead: Phillip Ketwaru

Stomach ulcers, which are also known as gastric ulcers, are painful sores in the stomach lining. This can affect both the stomach and small intestines.
It may also occur when the thick layer of mucus that protects your stomach from digestive juices is reduced.
It was reported that the man allegedly fell and sustained injuries while scaling his employer’s fence but was left in the alleyway without anyone rushing to his assistance.
The dead man’s son, Kaman Ketwaru, had told reporters that his family received a telephone call from his father’s employer informing them that his father had fallen, and was in need of medical attention.
When they arrived at the scene, the man was reportedly lying motionlessly, already dead. He was later escorted it to Lyken’s Funeral home.
Meanwhile, the businessman’s wife had stated that when the man turned up at their residence to work, he was showing signs of being unwell. They subsequently ordered him to go back home and return when he gets better. He reportedly jumped the fence instead of using the gate, and fell.
Meanwhile, following the autopsy, Ketwaru’s body was handed over to his relatives for burial.
