Handyman on bail for beating man with steel rod

A 47-year-old old handyman of Garnett Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was granted ,000 bail for inflicting grievous bodily harm on Sigbert Fraser.

Narine was previously charged for murder and released from the Camp Street Penitentiary in 2013.

The prosecution’s case alleged that the accused on the day in question hit the victim with a steel rod to varying parts of his body, which according to doctors’ reports, are potentially life threatening.

As a condition for bail, Narine is required to report to the Criminal Investigation Headquarters every day at 09:00h pending trial, which stands adjourned to April 19.

In 2013, Narine was released from prison after serving 30 years on a murder charge.
