this cause.
This is as the DHBC plugged $200,000 into the operations of the Cancer Institute of Guyana (CIG), particularly in aid of its works as it relates to breast cancer.
During a simple ceremony, DHBC handed over the cheque to the CIG’s representatives, comprising Team Leader and Director of Medical Outreach, Dr Mujahid Ghazi, as well as the General Manager, Fiona Legall.
In doing so, the bridge company’s Human Resources Officer, Ayanna Williams highlighted, “We continue to support the Cancer Institute and we stay committed to collaborating with the Cancer Institute to recognise all that they have done and all that they still have to do…so that we can continue to raise voices and be aware of this epidemic that is affecting each and every one of us.”
Meanwhile, in extending gratitude to the DHBC, Dr Ghazi outlined the significance of this donation by noting that it would play an important role in the delivery of the Cancer Institute’s services.
The donation is the continuation of a longstanding relationship between the DHBC and the Cancer Institute of Guyana which has seen the company participating in a number of activities organised by the Institute, over the years.
Stemming from that, a team of representatives from the DHBC took to the streets early Sunday morning as the CIG hosted its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.
