Hard Knocks and NK Ballers to clash in final tonight
Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal Tournament…
The curtains will fall on the sixth Annual New Era Entertainment/Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal tournament tonight in the ‘mining town’ of Linden.
Following Thursday’s exciting semifinal round, Hard Knocks will tonight match skills with NK Ballers in the final for the grand cash prize of $600,000., and an exceptionally exceptional encounter is anticipated.
The opening semifinal on Thursday evening at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) hard court had produced 37 goals, with Hard Knocks outgunning home side Dave & Celina’s All Stars 23-14 in a match that lasted 20 minutes per half.
Pernell Schultz banged in an incredible nine goals for the winners, while Daniel Wilson fired home an impressive eight goals. Trenton Lashley was part of the action with a hat-trick, while Colin Nelson had produced a brace and goalkeeper Sese Norville had joined in on the fun with a penalty.
Darrel George had scored four goals for the losers, with supporting hat-tricks coming from Benjamin Opara and Kevin Phillips.
The feature match had seen NK Ballers getting past High Rollers 7-5. The win was spearheaded by a hat-trick from Donovan Francis, while Keon Soares had assisted with a brace to record his name on the score sheet.
Joshawn Moore and Omar Brewley had each bagged braces in a losing effort for High Rollers.
Tonight’s winning team will pocket $600,000, while the second-placed team will get $250,000. Teams finishing third and fourth will take home $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The third-place playoff, pitting High Rollers against Dave & Celina’s All Stars, will kick off at 20:00hrs, while the final match kicks off at 21:00hrs.
An after-party is slated to take place at Time Square Lounge.
