The National Sports Commission (NSC), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCYS), 11th edition of the Janet & Cheddi Jagan Windball Cricket Championship continued at the National Gymnasium, Georgetown, with the Georgetown zone concluding. The tournament was organised by Sports Officer A Munroe.
Unstoppable St Stanislaus College delivered a clean sweep in the Georgetown segment of the competition, capturing both the girls’ and boys’ titles.
In the Cheddi Jagan boys’ final, fans were treated to another thrilling encounter as St Stanislaus College lived up to expectations and the strong support of their parents. Georgetown’s standout player of the tournament, Ishan Haricharan, single-handedly led his team against last year’s runners-up, Brickdam Secondary School.
After winning the toss, Saints sent Brickdam Secondary in to bat. Brickdam posted 80-1 from their allotted five overs, with Prosper Jacobus finishing unbeaten on 36 and Jaden Ramraj contributing 16. Naitram Samad was the lone wicket-taker, claiming 1-10.

In response, Saints chased down the target in emphatic fashion, reaching 83-2 in just four overs. Ishan Haricharan produced a remarkable innings, blasting an unbeaten 71, which included seven sixes. Despite being dropped three times, he capitalised fully on his chances to secure victory for the Saints. Dildhan Ganesh (1-6) and Garren Newton (1-20) were among the wicket-takers for Brickdam.
With this victory, St Stanislaus College advances to the National Eight, where they will compete for the grand prize of $800,000, along with other incentives sponsored by the NSC and MCYS.
Brickdam Secondary School, meanwhile, once again had to settle for second place, repeating their runner-up finish from 2025.
