Harmon pledges high level support for motor racing

Minister of State Joseph Harmon received a resounding applause on Friday evening when he announced that the government will give motor racing more support in their endeavours.
The minister’s comments came on Friday evening at the launching of the final leg of the Caribbean Motor racing Championships held at the GT Motorsport facility on Albert street. The championships are set for November 11 and 12 at the South Dakota Circuit.
Harmon stated, “A few weeks ago executives from the GMR&SC came to my office and we had a conversation in the way in which the sport was going and what they want to see. They produced to me a plan for the development of the circuit, it is very futuristic and that is something we can commit to working with the GMR&SC to achieve that goal.”

Public Infrastructure Minister David Patterson also echoed similar words regarding the support and more so, he stressed on the importance of safety.
Vice-President of the GMR&SC Richie Singh contended that this meet will be like no other and fans should be geared for thrilling action.
A twenty-seven race programme was unveiled for the final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships.
Qualification will also be held on Saturday morning from 10:00h with races beginning from 14:00h. Scrutinising will take place on Thursday and Friday and before qualification on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the club is organising weekend passes for those patrons desirous of viewing both days of action as well as VIP passes.
