Unceasing moments of thrills and parties will soon be unfold as the Hero’s Caribbean Premier League is a mere two days away, with the first match set to bowl off on the Friday between power house Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Lucia Stars in St. Lucia.
The following day the most consistent team of the CPL, Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on the star studded St. Kitts Patriots in Lauderhill, Florida. Coach of the Warriors Roger Harper says that by then he expects his unit to be charged and ready to compete.
Speaking yesterday at the end of the final practice match before the Warriors wing out to Florida, Harper, expressed satisfaction that his team gradually coming into gear as they approach their first match.

Amazon Warriors’ Head Coach Roger Harper

“Taking everything into consideration I think we are satisfied with where we are at the moment. We expect that we will have a couple of sessions when we get to Florida to fine tune for the matches in Florida, and come our first game we expect to be ready.”
The Coach noted the main aim of the team is to win the tournament, but there will be taking it in stages as they work towards qualifying for the playoffs then the final, with the tenacity to go all the way.
With the presence of spinners Rashid Khan, Veerasammy Permaul and Steven Jacobs, Harper said he expects a tremendous contribution from the spinners but is not ruling out the other bowlers since it was Sohail Tanveer who was the Warriors’ best bowler in the 2016 edition of the tournament.
Since the birth of the CPL in 2013, the Warriors have featured in three finals but have never been at the summit.
Maybe this is the year for the Warriors.
