Harris Paints Guyana Limited recently released a new line of paints targeting the low-budget market.
The line was designed as a cost-effective alternative in an already competitive marketplace, while maintaining the standards of a professional finish.
The launch, which was held at Herdmanston Lodge, Queenstown, Georgetown, introduced the Pro Speed Cover line of paints to the Guyanese market. The event was attended by a number of specially invited contractors, maintenance managers and industry professionals who were afforded a firsthand opportunity to witness

The line features an exciting range of colours, available in three different finishes – flat, eggshell and gloss, each unique finish designed to attract buyers based on their different preferences.
Harris Paints Guyana Trade Sales Manager Garfield Manasseh pointed out that while these products are cost-friendly, they offer exceptional quality. He provided statistics from research done on the products, which proves the line’s economic benefits, with the flat and eggshell finishes providing extra spread. With just one gallon, a flat paint can cover up to 40 per cent of 200 square feet while the eggshell paints can cover 20 per cent of 100 square feet. The water-based Pro Speed Cover gloss paints provide a sheen similar to that of traditional oil paints. The main advantage of the line, however, is that it contains Fast-Fuse Technology that allows the product to dry and a recoat be applied in as little as one hour.
Harris Paints Caribbean Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Orlando Vazquez explained that the introduction of this line was necessary to cater for budget-conscious buyers. He highlighted that while premium paints such as the company’s Ultra Plus will provide exceptional results in quality and durability, a lower cost alternative was highly sought out. Even with offering this low-cost line, the company promises high performance from the Pro Speed Cover paints. As such, the line is expected to play a vital role in Guyana’s paint market, especially for projects requiring frequent repainting while demanding the highest quality.
Harris Paints is celebrating the launch of the Pro Speed Cover line of paints with a promotion, which offers one free can of paint for every five purchased by a customer. This promotion will last until April 30, 2017.
