Haslim leads Majestic to comfortable win over WCW

The action in the NYNCL League & Rockaway Group T20 Cup continued over the weekend at Cunningham Park on 73rd Ave, New York. this fixture saw Majestic CC duke it out with West Coast Warriors in a thrilling encounter.
In the end, it was the Majestic side that copped an easy two points over their opponents, thanks to the brilliant efforts of Wasim Haslim, who smashed a quickfire 73.

West Coast Warriors won the toss and elected to bat. They soon found themselves in a spot of bother, as wickets began tumbling one after the other. Guyanese Akshaya Persaud scored 28 runs off 32 deliveries, but was pegged back and unable to score freely. Safeek Deonarine chipped in with a run-a-ball 22, but Ucil Armstrong’s 26 off 23 and Jonathan Rampersaud’s 30 off 20 were able to take their side to a respectable 135-4 in the allotted 20 overs.
Bowling for Majestic, Karamchand Ramnarine took 2-17, Avi Dhanpaul took 1-27 and Chris Patadin took 1-25.

In batting, Majestic needed a bit more that a run a ball to emerge victorious. It was a target that wasn’t too far out of reach for them, but Haslim came to the crease and the rest was history as he began smoking the ball to every part of the ground. He was able to play a handy knock of 73 off 38 deliveries, inclusive of five boundaries and six towering maximums.
Chipping in, Derick Narine produced 36 off 29, and Majestic ended on 138-2 in 15 overs. Jonathan Rampersaud bagged 2-22.
