Head Coach, Assistant Coach positions up for grabs at Guyana Cricket Board
The position of Head Coach and Assistant Coach to the Guyana Jaguars senior cricket team are up for grabs, as the Guyana Cricket Board recently announced the vacancies via an advertisement in a local daily publication.
Highly qualified and experienced level three coaches Esuan Crandon served as the Guyana Jaguars Head Coach and Rayon Griffth, and Julian Moore served in the Assistant Coach capacity on different occasions. Former West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul also served as Assistant Coach/Manager of the Guyana Jaguars senior team. Under this new GCB led by President Bissoondyal Singh, this move somewhat new for these coaches in Guyana.
Crandon, who served as the Head Coach and was instrumental in Jaguars clinching the Regional 4-Day title for five consecutive outings has reapplied for the Head Coach position. Coaches applying for this job must have at least a CWI Level two coaching certificate or its equivalent, at least two years coaching experience. The applicant must be a resident in Guyana during the contract period, must be able to efficiently plan, organize and implement a players’/team development program and the applicant must be prepared to submit written proposals plans and reports to the GCB on all aspects of their coaching assignments.
Additionally, the applicant must be able to work unsupervised and must be highly motivated individuals. According the advertisement, salaries and benefits will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications must be addressed to the Hon.
