A heated exchange between two men who are known to each other ended in the murder of a 27-year-old man at Quamina Road, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Dead is Alwyn Eastman.
Reports are that Eastman and his cousin were walking along the Beterverwagting Access Road at around 18:30h on Sunday when they were approached by the suspect. Police said that a heated exchange erupted between Eastman and the 29-year-old suspect, which resulted in a scuffle.

According to Police, during the scuffle the suspect fell into the trench but eventually crawled out and ran behind Eastman where he whipped out a knife and stabbed the man twice to the chest and abdomen.
The victim was picked up in a conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
On Monday, Police said checks were made for the suspect but he is yet to be located. An investigation has been launched.
