Hemraj, Griffith, Narine among other Guyanese to showcase at USA Minor League

– Cornwall, Powell, Lewis among big names

The USA Minor League Cricket Pre-Draft has taken place and it speaks well for some of Guyana’s top cricketers and West Indian stars. Names such as Guyana Amazon Warriors top order batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj, St Lucia Zouks Rakheem Cornwall, former West Indies powerhouse Ricardo Powell among others have all been snapped up by their respective teams as the tournament is set to commence on July 31st, 2021

Derick Narine will turnout for the Philadelphians

The stylish left-handed, Hemraj has been snapped up by the New Jersey Somerset Cavaliers as their wildcard pick. Hemraj in particular will be looking to bring his ‘A’ game as the 2021 Hero CPL T20 edition looms. An excellent performance for Hemraj would mean that he would take his for going into to play for the Warriors and possibly lead them to the coveted Hero CPL title that had eluded them in the past.
Hemraj has recently concluded his journey in the MAQ USA T10 League, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer. Hemraj had stellar performances of 60 off 19 balls and 66 off 25 balls in convincing match-winning innings. He also ended the tournament hitting 25 sixes and scored the most runs – 235 – at an average of 58.75 and a strike rate of 235.

Rakheem Cornwall will play for the Atlanta Fire

Prior to the 2021 tournament, in 2020 he played in the US OPEN CRICKET 2020 and walked away with 190 runs, a high score of 87, and an average of 63.33 at a strike rate of 163.79 while playing for the Somerset Cavaliers.

Trevon Griffith will play for the Empire State Titans

The international talent comes in the form of the Wildcard and Marquee player category with experience from all over the cricketing world set to grace the grounds across the United States this summer.

The competition also boasts some of the top cricketers in the Caribbean. A few of the players will also showcase their talent in the upcoming Hero CPL as well. Representing their respective teams are:
