Chandrapaul Hemraj will be captaining the Somerset Cavaliers

The Hollywood LA Open 2021 Championship will be held July 1-5, 2021, as the United States of America celebrates its Independence Day weekend.
Guyana Amazon Warriors batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj will be captaining the Somerset Cavaliers over the weekend and it is his hope that he can extend his form heading into the 2021 edition of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Amazon Warriors bowler Ashmead Nedd will be among the ranks

Hemraj will be responsible for leading Guyanese talent such as Ashmead Nedd and Sherfane Rutherford, while their bowling will be boosted by international talent such as Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and St Lucia Zouks’ Rakheem Cornwall, just to name a few. The winner of the tournament will pocket US$50,000 while the runners-up will cart off US$15,000.
In a brief comment, Hemraj, the Cavaliers Captain, said, “I think it is a great opportunity for me to lead such a team, to lead with so much international players who have played in different parts of the world. But I know with so much experience in the team, it will make my job so much easier on the field. Heading into the CPL, which is

scheduled to commence in August, I think if you look at the team, you will see a lot of players who will be participating in CPL as well. So, it is a good tournament to get some runs and get that confidence heading into CPL.”
