Hero MotorCorp gives back for 1-year anniversary

The primary sponsor of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Hero Motorcorp, went the extra mile on Friday in celebration of its first year operating in Guyana.
The motorcycle and scooter manufacturing company celebrated in a different way, giving back to less-fortunate children.
Rose Ramdehol Auto Sales, the distributor of Hero’s products, took up the mantle of organising a cheerful visit to the Shaheed Boys and Girls home. Added to that, the organisers took the opportunity to utilise its partnership with the Hero CPL by giving the children of the Shaheed Home the chance to interact with two Guyana Amazon Warriors players.
Speaking on behalf of the Auto Company, Joshua Ramdehol revealed that Hero has been actively involved in and has a stunning track record for community service. Ramdehol thus expressed elation at being part of such an initiative.
“Globally, Hero sponsors a lot of sporting events such as IPL, CPL, golf, along with social programmes such as funding for university, campaigns, youth programmes, and we have pledged here in Guyana to continue this work of Hero by sponsoring local events….”

Left-hand batsman Shimron Hetmyer exchanges a few words with another youngster

He went on to state that giving back is a major responsibility of corporate entities. “Being a part of the Private Sector, it’s our social responsibility to ensure that everyone has the equal opportunity and fair option to education and social services. So, it is our responsibility to give back,” he explained.
There was an outpouring of gratitude on behalf of the Rahaman family, who is tasked with upkeeping the orphanage. “On behalf of the Rahamans and the entire Shaheed Boys and Girls Orphanage, it is our sincerest appreciation for remembering us, remembering the children and bringing these world-class athletes as a source of inspiration and admiration. I would like to appreciate the company Hero for sponsoring this and more specifically, the Ramdehol Company for promoting us and the children,” a family representative said.

Guyana Amazon Warriors all-rounder Chris Green presents a token to an elated young man

Following the formalities, Shimron Hetmyer and Chris Green, who were representing the Guyana Amazon Warriors team, interacted with the children and shared bits of advice and encouraging words with them.
“As an international visitor it is great to see the commitment being shown to those in need of it. The kids here today are the important ones. And the work being done here is really special,” stated all-rounder Chris Green.
The children were later presented with back-to-school tokens and a variety of gear, so that they too can get involved in the game of cricket.
