Hetmyer shines for West Berbice

Seon Hetmyer stroked a brisk ton as West Berbice gained the upper hand over Georgetown when Round Six of the GCB/Jaguars 3-Day League continued at the Bush Lot Ground.
After Raymond Perez top-scored with 47, Georgetown then folded for 155 all out in 46.5 overs, compliments of the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, Gudakesh Motie, who snapped up 4-38 while former U-15 spinner Seon Glasgow chipped in with 4-47.

West Berbice, in reply, ended stumps on 226-8 after their skipper Hetmyer, the older brother of Test player Shimron Hetmyer, cracked a 131-ball 137 to help his team ease into a comfortable position following off-spinner Gajanan Suknannan’s 4-71 and pacer Kellon Carmichael’s 2-38.
Upper Corentyne vs East Bank at Port Mourant Ground
Upper Corentyne batting first made 262 all out in 62 overs, with Clinton Pestano top-scoring with 82 while off-spinner Eon Hooper chipped in with an even 50. Spinner Totaram Bishun led the bowling for East Bank with 4-50 as Dharshan Persaud and Ershaad Ali ended with two scalps apiece.
At stumps, East Bank were 129-3 from 36 overs, with opener Sachin Singh on 40*and skipper Ronaldo Ali-Mohammed on 35*.
