High Court trial for teen accused of murder

A teenager was sentenced to stand trial before the High Court after he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday.

Marlon Garrett, 17, of Campbellville, Georgetown, was initially charged with the capital offence of murder on September 15, 2016.

That indictable charge alleged that on September 11, 2016, at Bourda Market, Georgetown, he murdered a man.

Garrett answered to Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who told him that the evidence against him was sufficient, and as such, he is to stand trial at the next sitting of the High Court.
