HJ riding the waves slow in 2017

One of Guyana’s premiere entertainment groups, Hits and Jams Entertainment has undoubtedly had a slow 2016 in terms of promoting entertainment events and 2017 does not seem promising at all. mash-1 mash-2
Known for pulling off some of the biggest concerts in the past, the entertainment group is now regrouping from the worst possible year for the entertainment industry. Several other entertainment groups have moved away from the “fetes” and concerts and towards hosting concept parties as was seen during the Christmas holidays.
This year, with Mashramani back on the cards, the entertainment group is hoping to have a few small parties. The first is expected to be a Pre-Mash party and a possible J’Ouvert style party leading up to the costume and float parade.
Management of the entertainment group is now in talks with corporate Guyana with the aim of having a band on the road come February 23. Once all goes well, an announcement will be made.
In addition, the annual ‘Soca Camp Fire’ will be held at the Hits and Jams Water World and a possible Mash Night wash down is on the cards. This will feature local and Caribbean artistes.
After Mashramani, the next big thing would have been the annual Jamzone but HJ is still contemplating. “As the year progresses, we will see what can be done in terms of entertainment events but as of now, we are keeping things small,” Kerwin Bollers told Guyana Times Entertainment. He added that it is expected to be a tough year in 2017 but hopes that the spending power of the public will be better.
