Trails of bloodstains were seen leading from the bridge to one of the stands.
The now dead man was last seen alive by his family on Thursday just after 16:00h. Police are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Meanwhile, this has been the third instance where someone was found dead in the Park.
In December 2019, 28-year-old Seon Anthony Burry also called “Cenestro”, a Rural Constable (RC) attached to the Police Force Sports Club, was discovered with multiple stab wounds to the neck and throat.
Then on the evening of February 23, 2020, 59-year-old Cyril Harold of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), was discovered by a group of persons. He was found lying face down along Haley Street near D’Urban Park.
However, a few months after those two murders, Gravesande has been reported the third persons to have been killed at the Park.
