Hornets humble Panthers

The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) Bounty Farm 15’s League continued on Sunday at the National Park with Pepsi Hornets giving Panthers a humbling with a 36-25 defeat.

Panthers were in hot steam winning two consecutive Sevens tournament then obliterating Police Falcons 67-7 in the first match of this tournament but the experienced Hornets jolted their enthusiasm.
Hornets with the experienced and powerful Kevin McKenzie took the early lead with the Australian based player scoring two tries. Rickford Cummings and Ryan Gonsalves had shares of the action with respective tries. Gonsalves also sealed three conversions and nailed three penalties.
Panthers were by no means going to roll over easily as Godfrey Broomes (two tries and three conversions) along with Osei McKenzie, Daniel Anderson and Jamal Angus brought the fight back but it little too late.
The League continues on Saturday at the same venue with Panthers tackling the Caribs from 16:00h.
