Hotdog vendor found dead in alleyway

A hotdog vendor was on Sunday found dead in an alleyway in Georgetown and Police have since said that they suspect that he was murdered.
Dead is 32-year-old Ilan Antonio Singh, a Venezuelan who was living at Lot 5 North Road, Bourda, Georgetown.
Police said on Sunday that the alleyway is the area where a hotel on Church Street, Georgetown, packs its garbage.
Based on investigations, Police said that according to a female associate of Singh, at about 00:30h on Sunday morning the man told her that he was going to a party at Rio Club, which is located at Forshaw Street, Queenstown, and he left walking.
However, at about 06:00h a maintenance worker at SleepIn Hotel, while on duty, discovered the body lying in the alleyway.
The Police were called and the body was examined. Police said what appeared to be wounds were seen to his head along with bruises on his knees, right hand and left shoulder.
The body was taken to Georgetown Public Hospital where Singh was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing as Police await a post-mortem examination.
