Housain, Lim power EBDCA to victory over Tranzac

The East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) Youth Team on Saturday battled Tranzac Cricket Academy out of Canada in a 40-over affair at the Everest Cricket Club. The East Bank team edged the visitors by a mere six runs.

EBDCA won the toss and chose to bat first, they posted 129-10 in 34.5 overs. Top-scoring were Josiah Lim with 50 off 57 balls (3×4, 2×6) and Vijay Ramrathan with 23 off 27 (1×4, 1×6). Bowling for Tranzac Cricket Academy were Dev Patel (6 overs, 21 runs, 3 wickets) and Miguel Nandu (6 overs, 27 runs, 2 wickets).
In reply, Tranzac Cricket Academy fell for 123-10 in 24.3 overs. Top-scoring were Karan Anim with 27 off 30 (2×4) and Nandu with 20 off 26 (2×4). Bowling for EBDCA were Farhan Housain with figures of 7-26 (8 overs) and Dravid Manohar, 2-19 (8 overs, 2 maidens).
The EBDCA expressed its gratitude to Tranzac Cricket Academy for the opportunity to showcase the youth talent, which has proven fruitful.
