The presentation comes just days after the orphanage was damaged by a fire of unknown origin.
The Ministry handed over personal care packages along with clothing for the girls in an effort to replace their items that were damaged by the fire.
They were also presented with four mattresses, compliments of the Civil Defence Commission (CDC).
It was reported that on Monday last, a fire had started at the orphanage located at Oleander Gardens, Ogle, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Smoke was seen billowing from the building and an alarm was raised. The Guyana Fire Service was summoned to the scene and the firefighters were able to contain the blaze. There was minimal damage and no one was injured.
That was not the first time that a fire had started at the orphanage. Back in October 2018, the orphanage was completely destroyed by fire.
In August 2019, the building was reopened after months of efforts to have it rebuilt.
