The outreach targeted residents of Sisters Village and neighbouring villages, attracting over 210 persons from different religious and ethnic backgrounds.
Among those treated were infants, senior citizens, and those affected by the recent closure of the Wales Sugar Estate.
Patients were seen by Drs Anila Ramphal, Varun Budhram, Carl Niamatali, Ramdeo Jainarine and Kissoon, along with a team of Optometrists, and benefited from a host of services, including blood sugar, hypertension and eye tests.
Additionally, prescription drugs were administered as required, anti-suicide handouts were circulated and 100 food hampers were distributed to needy persons, single parents, and senior citizens.
Spearheaded by the Head of the Guyana Pandits Council, Pandit Rudranauth Sharma, the medical outreach is a monthly initiative conducted by the Council.
In the past four years, the organisation has conducted numerous outreaches across the country to the benefit of more than 4000 persons, while breaking racial, social, and cultural barriers.

Organisations/communities that would like to benefit from this initiative are encouraged by the Council to contact Devica Uditram on 616-1432.
