Scores of persons turned out to take advantage of a massive medical outreach held Sunday at the North Radha Krishna Mandir in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

Over 300 mainly elderly persons benefited from a host of free services including testings for blood sugar, hypertension, visual, and HIV.

Some 100 food hampers were distributed, suicide handouts were circulated and counselling also offered by a team of doctors, pharmacists, pandits and other volunteers.

The event was organised by the Guyana Pandits’ Council and Radha Krishna Mandir in collaboration with the Sanatan Vaidic Dharma Pandits’ Sabha.

It is their sixth medical outreach for the year thus far.

Head of the Guyana Pandits’ Council, Pandit Rudra Sharma, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the medical outreach a success. He extended special thanks to the dedicated team: Dr Anila Ramphal, Dr Kaalesh Ramcharran, Dr Rupan Singh and Dr Varun Budhram, the pharmacists, other pandits and volunteers.

In continuing in its bid to give back to communities across Guyana, the group will be hosting their annual blood drive during this month at the Guyana Pandits’ Council Headquarters on 196 Camp and Quamina Streets, Georgetown.
