Hundreds of job opportunities to come with new, modern mall at Providence
In a few years’ time, the East Bank Demerara skyline would be massively transformed, and construction of a new, modern mall, H-Towers Mall, would bring more high-end entertainment and shopping options for residents, as well as hundreds of job opportunities.
H-Towers is a Guyanese-owned company which, along with its international partners, would be constructing a Sheraton Hotel and Residence here. Like the hotel, the mall is also slated to open in 2025, and will be located below the Sheraton Hotel, with two levels of retail outlets spanning 63,340 square feet.
In a statement on Thursday, the company said H-Towers Mall aims at providing fun for the entire family, with world renowned restaurants, an entertainment centre, and an exhilarating shopping experience for both locals and foreigners.
“With convenient parking and access to a wide variety of amenities, H-Towers mall is perfectly positioned at becoming the go-to place for all your needs and an unmatched experience. The mall’s environmentally-friendly design and innovative architectural concepts is an excellent example of H-Towers’ leading sustainability model and the progress the company is making towards fulfilling Guyana’s vision of setting and meeting international best practice standards,” the missive detailed.
Its concessions include: a food court, clothing stores, jewellery stores, banking agencies, pharmacies, home furnishing and appliances stores, hardware stores, supermarkets, and an entertainment hub consisting of a variety of posh bars and restaurants.
“The mall forms part of a mixed-use, unique experience for hotel guests, residents and shoppers,” Executive Director of H-Towers, Kerwin Bollers, has said.
According to Bollers, persons and businesses interested in leasing retail space can still do so by emailing: [email protected].
It has further been outlined that the construction of the mall/shopping centre would undoubtedly lead to the creation of new jobs, with more than 200 persons expected to be employed at this facility when it becomes fully operational.
Earlier this month, H-Towers, together with its US-based partners – The Triwest Financial Group, Inc and Black Pearl Holding Co. – signed an agreement with Marriott International to bring the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brand to Georgetown.
The project is expected to include a 200-room Sheraton Hotel and 224 residences. It is a two-tower, new-build project that would expand the company’s existing portfolio in the country, and is expected to break ground by the end of this year, with construction slated to be completed in 2025.
The hotel, which would occupy one of the two towers, is located in close proximity to downtown Georgetown in the suburban area of Providence. It is expected that the 200-room hotel would feature a mix of king and double rooms and several suites, including a Governor’s Suite and a sophisticated Sheraton Club Lounge.
In addition, planned amenities for the hotel include a swimming pool, 24-hour fitness centre, specialty restaurant, meeting and conference rooms, state-of-the-art spa, and the brand’s signature bar, coffee, and market concept.
Meanwhile, the up-and-coming neighbourhood features residential, commercial, and retail centres offering guests a variety of experiences to explore.
The intention is for the hotel to serve as a community hub for locals and visitors alike, creating a holistic experience with spaces to connect, be productive, and help travellers feel connected to the local community.
