Husband charged for punching wife in the face

A resident of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WBD) has been charged with the offnce of punching his wife in the face.
Forty-year-old Shawn Primo denied the allegation when the charge was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday last by Magistrate Judy Latchman.
It is alleged that he, on August 13, 2017 at the Number 47 Bus Park in Georgetown, unlawfully assaulted Carla Primo.
The father of two reportedly approached the virtual complainant (VC) as she was headed to work, and an argument ensued.
The accused then proceeded to cuff the VC to her face, which resulted in major swelling. The matter was reported and the accused was arrested and charged by Police.
The prosecution had no objection to bail being granted to the accused, and this was set at the sum of ,000. The matter will be called again before Magistrate Latchman on October 9, 2017 for fixture.
