Husband, wife charged for selling alcohol to underage children

A man and his wife found themselves answerable to the Court of Law on Thursday, charged for reportedly selling alcohol to children under the age of 16.
It was reported to the police that forty-year-old Mark Marshall and 37-year-old Chandra Marshall of Supenaam, Old Market Road, were allowing persons under the age of 16 to be at the licensed premises, which is contrary to section 54 (1) of the Intoxicating Liquor Licensing Act Chapter 82:01.
The couple was also found to be selling intoxicating liquor to young persons which is contrary to section 55 (1) of the Intoxicating Liquor Licensing Act Chapter 82:21.
As such, they were both taken before Magistrate Esther Sam where the charges were read to them. The duo pled not guilty and were both granted bail in the sum of $20,000 each.
They are expected to make a second court appearance on July 7, 2019, when the matter is scheduled to continue.
