“I am with Dem” golf tournament set for this Saturday at LGC

The golfing action will continue at the Lusignan Golf Club this Saturday, September 11, 2021 as they gear up to host “I am with Dem” golf tournament, sponsored by Demerara Mutual Life Group.
The tournament will tee off at 12:30 pm and will be medal play over 18 holes net score shotgun start.

For further registration persons are asked to contact the Lusignan Golf Club on 220-5660 to register. Registration closes at 12pm (noon)on Friday 10th September.
There will be various prizes up for grabs, such as trophies and vouchers based on net scores. The first-place winner will cart off a trophy plus a $5000 voucher, second place a trophy plus a $4000 voucher, and third place a trophy plus a $3000 voucher. For the best net front nine (trophy plus $1500 voucher); best net back nine (trophy plus $1500 voucher); and nearest to the flag (trophy plus $1000 voucher).
At a simple handover ceremony LGC President Patanjilee Persaud stated that the LGC is appreciative of the joint collaboration between the golf club and the Demerara Mutual Life Group. He relayed that the LGC is also appreciative of the corporate responsibility the insurance company has shown in assisting with the sponsorship of the sport, and he is looking forward to a great weekend. He reiterated that the LGC is thankful to Demerara Mutual and the entire business community.
Also speaking on behalf of the Demerara Mutual Life Group, Sales and Marketing Executive Sharmela Ramsammy said, “We’ve been associated with these golf tournaments for over 10 years, and this year is no different. We are happy and excited to once again sponsor the tournament. And we at Demerara Mutual, what we like to do is to promote the game of golf. As you know, golf is not one of the most popular sports in Guyana, but with our collaboration and other collaborations, we hope to make it one of the most popular sports in Guyana. So, we are inviting everyone to come down and support the event this Saturday.”
The players will be itching for action once again, as they attempt to hone their skills with the Guyana Open just around the corner. Since the rain has eased, interest in the sport has picked up, and the course is in spectacular condition, which is a welcoming sign for many of Guyana’s top golfers.
All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament, to collect their score cards, pay the tournament fees, and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to tee off at 12:30pm.
All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect.
