Home News “I was holding it for somebody”–says teen found with ganja
A 17-year-old vendor who on Friday appeared before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly charged with possession of cannabis told the court that he was holding the illegal substance for someone when he was caught by Police.
The teen admitted to the charge which stated that on October 13, 2018, at James Street Albouystown, Georgetown, he was found with 0.5 grams of cannabis in his possession.
After the charge was read to him, the teen, in his defence, told the court that the narcotics did not belong to him. “I was holding it for somebody,” he declared.
He was nevertheless fined $3,000, and was ordered to do six months of community service at the Brickdam Police Station.
