IAC launches annual toy drive for less fortunate children

– encourages donors to give generously

The holiday season will bring joy to the hearts of many youth as the Indian Action Committee has launched its First Annual Toy Drive for the less fortunate children. The programme got underway on November 21 and will run until December 13, 2016. The IAC is urging donors to give generously towards this worthy cause.

Persons desirous of making donations can do so at the IAC office located at 1762 Railway Embankment, Cummings Lodge, Georgetown, from 09:00h to 17h, Monday to Friday, or contact the IAC on telephone number 222-5163 for further details.

“The goal of the IAC is to provide toys for at least 300 underprivileged children of all ethnicities. These toys will be distributed to the less fortunate children at the IAC’s annual Christmas party which will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016,” the body announced.

The IAC noted that it has partnered with Gafoors Houston Complex, Ashmins Trading, and Sachi which will each have one marked box at their locations where persons can place donated toys.
