Imlach’s unbeaten 186 powers DCC into 1st Division 50-over final

West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Tevin Imlach produced a magnificent unbeaten 186 to lead Deme-rara Cricket Club (DCC) to a commanding 115-run victory over the Guyana Police Force (GPF) cricket team in the Dave’s West Indian Inc First Division 50-over competition semi-final at the DCC Ground, Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, GPF made an encouraging start, reducing the home side to 50 for four in 9.3 overs. However, Imlach and West Indies Under-19 player Johnathan Van Lange turned the contest around with a remarkable 201-run fifth-wicket partnership.
Van Lange contributed a well-constructed 84 from 82 balls, striking five fours and six sixes, while Im-lach dominated the innings with an unbeaten 186 from just 115 deliveries. His explosive knock includ-ed 16 fours and 11 sixes, propelling DCC to an imposing 344 for nine in their allotted 45 overs.
For GPF, Kemol Savoury was the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets for 49 runs.
In reply, GPF struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and were eventually dismissed for 229 in 32.5 overs, handing DCC a convincing victory and securing their place in the final.
Savory made 44 from 40 balls, including four fours and three sixes, while Dwayne Dick provided some resistance with a blistering 67 off just 33 deliveries, striking six fours and six sixes.
Despite their efforts, Police could not overcome DCC’s imposing total. Jaden Dowlin, Sachin Singh, Ashmead Nedd and Van Lange claimed two wickets apiece to ensure the home side completed the emphatic win.
DCC’s victory was built around Imlach’s outstanding century and the crucial fifth-wicket stand with Van Lange, which transformed a precarious position into a match-winning total and booked their place in the competition’s final.
