Improvised shotgun found at Wismar Backlands

The Police discovered one improvised 12-gauge shotgun during an operation at Wismar Backlands, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), on Tuesday.
Police stated that on the day in question between 05:00h and 11:00h, a party of Police ranks who were conducting a patrol exercise at Wismar Backlands, Linden, came upon a makeshift camp.

The improvised weapon found during the Police operation

The ranks proceeded to the area where they observed living accommodations including kitchen utensils and hammocks. A further search unearthed the improvised 12-gauge shotgun wrapped in plastic in the camp.
The weapon was taken to Wismar Police Station where it was marked, sealed and lodged. At the time of the operation, no one was at the camp.
