Inaugural Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers Schools Football League concludes on Sunday

As weeks of intense action now come to a close, the inaugural Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers Schools Football League promises an action-packed weekend, with many crucial games being played before the curtains come down on the league this Sunday at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Ground on Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
Twelve schools were selected from Georgetown, West and East Demerara, and Linden to compete in eleven rounds for the title. The competition has thus far seen schools such as Lodge Secondary asserting their dominance with 27 points, and arch- rivals Annandale seated in second position with the same amount of points but trailing by an inferior goal difference. Christianburg -Wismar are seated in third position with 26 points, but have thus far scored 51 goals in their ten games. A win for Annandale would hand them the championship should Lodge lose, but should Lodge win, Lodge would no doubt cart off the title.
The Linden-based third place occupants, Christianburg-Wismar, still have a shot at the title, but would have to register a win and hope for upsets befalling the two top teams. The winning team will them compete alongside the runners-up, Annai Secondary School of Region 9 and Shiva Boys’ Hindu College of Trinidad and Tobago, in the KFC Goodwill Schools Tournament which is scheduled for December 18-22, 2018.
