Inaugural Triple Crown delayed again

Persistent rain on the Corentyne coast on Saturday night and early Sunday morning left the Rising Sun Turf Club waterlogged and impossible for the highly anticipated first running of the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC) Triple Crown. This left organizers with no option but to push back the first leg for the second time after the initial February 18 date was also rain affected.
Turfites, horse owners and jockeys who were obviously disappointed are now forced to wait a little longer for the excitement on the track. The new dates will be announced by the organizers in the coming days.
Whenever the weather allows there will be heated action in the seven events across three days with a hefty sum of over $20M is at stake.
