The personal income tax threshold will be increased from $85,000 to $ 100,000.
This, according to the Finance Minister, Dr Ashni Singh, will place an additional $4.8 billion into the hands of current taxpayers, both in the public and private sectors.
13,000 will no longer be paying taxes as a result of this measure.
The 2024 budget is themed “Staying the course, building prosperity for all” and amounts to $1.146 trillion.
