Jones lauded the contribution of the Traffic department of the Guyana Police Force for their tremendous support in ensuring an incident free event. He mentioned that he wish to see an increase in the participation of cyclists especially from overseas teams. He also revealed that they are discussions to have a velodrome set up that would facilitate indoor cycling and should this be a reality it would also serve as the home for cycling in Guyana. In his view this would increase participation in cycling and improve on the quality of cycling in Guyana which would lead to better representation at Regional and international events. Jones also said that everyone can look forward to a much improved event next year since the National Sports Commission would be playing a more meaningful role in the coordination of the event.
At the presentation ceremony that followed the annual road race, Minister within the Ministry of Education Nicolette Henry thanked the cyclists, organizers and everyone who played a role that ensured the event was a success.
