“Independence Flag Concert” for tonight at Stabroek Market Square

The Stabroek Market Square will be transformed into a carnival atmosphere this evening, with the Social Cohesion Ministry hosting “Independence Flag Concert” as Guyana celebrates its 53rd anniversary as an independent nation.
The show was organised with the main objective of promoting harmony, especially around this time of the year. The show will be epic as several well-known power houses in the music industry are expected to perform live before an anticipated massive crowd.
The line-up includes Road March Queen, Melissa “Vanilla” Roberts; reigning Carib Soca Monarch, Brandon Harding; reigning Chutney Monarch, Steven Ramphal; along with Jumo “Rubber Waist” Primo; Kwasi “Ace” Edmondson; Michelle “Big Red” King; soca sensation Mark Batson; former Calypso Monarch, Young Bill Rogers and evangelist, Saiku Andrews.
All the artistes will be backed by the Heatwave Band. The artistes are all ready and eager to set the Stabroek Square on fire. The Guyanese performers without a doubt will renew their calls for peace and tranquility to prevail over Guyana – the land of six races.
Admission to the event is absolutely free. Strict security will be on site.
