India High Commissioner donates books to mandir

The High Commissioner of India to Guyana, His Excellency Mr Venkatachalam Mahalingam, has on Friday donated 50 religious books to the library of the Groenveldt Shiva Mandir, located on the Demerara West Coast (WCD).
The books were handed over at a short ceremony organised by the High Commission in Georgetown.

The High Commissioner has urged members to ensure that devotees of the mandir utilize the books to enhance and enrich their knowledge of the Hindu Religion.
The High Commissioner had, in April, donated 222 books to the University of Guyana’s Tain Campus in East Berbice. That donation comprised 141 titles, and there were multiple copies on various subjects such as Philosophy, History, Information Technology, Business, Religion, Politics, Science, etc.
