Infant’s body found in WCD canal

Police are investigating the circumstances which led to the death of an infant, whose body was discovered floating in a canal at Crane Squatting Area, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
According to Police, the female infant’s body, measuring 12 inches in length, was discovered naked, floating with the face upwards and the left hand missing.
Following the discovery, the infant was escorted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) by Police, where she was pronounced dead.
The body was later taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem.
Investigations are ongoing. (G9)
