…in PNC protests?
Your Eyewitness has heard some ridiculous things in his lifetime, but this excuse about every Opposition/PNC protest that ends up with Indian Guyanese being beaten or worse because of “infiltrators” takes the cake. How stupid do these people think Guyanese are?? We know their own supporters just lap it up because of the old “confirmation bias” tendency. But do they expect to make friends and influence folks outside their echo chamber?? Or they don’t really care about that??
Now, if they know that infiltrators did the damage…how come these persons are never identified?? Wouldn’t that solve the matter there and then?? Secondly, let’s for a minute say that there were some “infiltrators”; why didn’t the legit protestors grab them for messing up their peaceful protest and diverting attention from the point of their protest?? Surely, the “infiltrators” couldn’t have outnumbered the REAL protestors, could they?? Then they wouldn’t be “infiltrators” no mo’!!
But the social media jokers aren’t only insisting there were “infiltrators”, but PPP INFILTRATORS!!! Man…the way these people carry on about the PPP, you’d think they could leap tall buildings in a single jump!! And be faster than a speeding bullet!! You mean the protest started in Golden Grove and, within two hours, the PPP was able to put together so many “infiltrators” as to overwhelm all those vendors and coordinate their attacks so precisely?? What is this?? The PPP has Rent-a-Thug gangs of African Guyanese in every village? What nonsense is this?? How could they be so disrespectful of African Guyanese??
But that’s the problem with the Opposition brain trust behind the new wave of attacks. They give the PPP so much credit that pretty soon their constituents are gonna be convinced that the PPP’s invincible, and what’s the point of going up against them!! They first insisted that the PPP was able to rig the 2020 elections – AGAINST THE PNC!! – from the outside!! So, imagine what they can do from the inside when they’re in Government?!! But hold it!! Didn’t they lose that election in 2015 when they WERE in Government?? What happened then?? Somebody fell asleep at the wheel??
Or did the PPP’s infiltrators forget to ensure that their SOPs for their strongest Region were never shown and doctored the results to project on a soiled bedsheet?? Incidentally, how did that bedsheet get so soiled at GECOM? And then why, in the first place, was there a bedsheet at GECOM?? Was it to facilitate folks falling asleep at the wheel??
You see what happens when you try to take these agent provocateurs (French pronunciation, please!!) seriously?? They’re revealed as the slapstick comedians they are.
Save it’s not funny when real people get beaten and robbed.
…and negligence
Now, your Eyewitness always wondered about the legal implications for the organisers of the protests-segueing-into-violence episodes in Guyana. So, he asked a friend who has a friend who’s a lawyer. And he was told that, in Guyana, if so many protests have ended up as they did, then the organisers could be convicted of criminal negligence!! “And what’s this??” your Eyewitness asked his friend of a friend.
He was told, “Criminal negligence is conduct where a person ignores an obvious risk, or disregards the life and safety of those around him. They also describe such behaviour as a form of recklessness.
The negligent person acts significantly different than most people would under similar circumstances.”
An example given was if a parent or guardian leaves a loaded firearm where a small child can get it.
So, think about it. Shouldn’t a reasonable organiser take reasonable precautions to prevent fellow citizens from being brutalised?
Or should it be every man for himself and the Devil takes the hindmost??

“Elder Green” wants the GRA to note the quantum of business done by Mon Repos vendors – going by their claims for losses during the riots.
Maybe the GRA should also investigate why he’s receiving a pension based on 10 times his original salary??
