Injuries, playing conditions, expectations aside – top teams ready for battle!

Hero Caribbean Premier League 2018

With both teams oozing confidence ahead of today’s deciding matchup, captains of the final two teams in the Hero Caribbean Premier League 2018, Chris Green and Dwayne Bravo, have declared their sides ready, roaring and rearing for the thrilling encounter this evening.
“From our side of things we’re really excited! We also come in with a bit of momentum at the back end as well. We’re all really looking forward to the clash,” Guyana Amazon Warriors captain, Chris Green, has stated.
Trinbago Knight Riders’ captain, Dwayne Bravo, had this to say: “I think only the two best teams remain, and the fans are going to get a very good cricket game. For us, there’s nothing about preparation. We played last night (Friday) and it was a good win, so we just want to take that momentum into the game tomorrow (today).”
The Brian Lara Cricket Stadium pitch, where the drama will play out, has a surface very similar to the one at Providence in Guyana, but it has proven to be a bit slow to start. However, both captains are positive that their players would be able to manage both batting and bowling there.
“It’s nothing that the local players are not accustomed to! So I think the wicket tomorrow is going to be similar, slowish but a good one,” DJ Bravo has stated.
“Even the international players have played the best part of 10 or 11 games here in the CPL, and know what each game’s conditions are going to hold for them. We just have to adapt to that on the night,” Chris Green’s declared.
On the topic of final eleven and injured players, Dwayne Bravo told media operatives that he is unsure about Sunil Narine’s condition, his having played their qualifier match against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots with an injured shoulder.
“To play a game and bowl the way he did on a very bad shoulder shows his class and the commitment he has for the team. We have a very good medical team, the doctor and the physio are going to do everything in their powers to make sure he’s up and ready to go,” Bravo declared.
The Warriors’ camp has been without medium-pacer Keemo Paul, who is recovering from an injury. Warriors’ captain shared, “I’m pretty sure that we have a fully fit squad. I think they’re still sweaty on the fitness of Keemo. But other than that, no injury clouds for me as yet; so that’s great.”
The highly anticipated clash will bowl off at 17hrs today, and by the look of things, both teams are gunning for the new trophy.
“To have the opportunity to defend our trophy is a great result for us despite how the game goes tomorrow,” DJ Bravo has said.
“Everyone back home in Guyana has been really supportive throughout the tournament, and we know how much our success means to them. If all goes well and our way, then we get to hold the trophy up at the end of the night,” Chris Green has stated in optimism.
