Twenty-three-year-old Andy Motilall, an inmate at the Lusignan Prison serving time for break-and-enter and larceny, was on Monday found with a quantity of ganja after he was searched by Police.
According to reports received, Motilall, allegedly an orderly at the penitentiary, was in the company of other inmates on Monday who had gone to clean the prison’s kitchen.
However, after he was escorted back to the Prison’s holding bay, he was searched and the ganja was found in his crotch.
The cannabis, when weighed, amounted to 30.5 grams, and
Motilall has admitted to ownership of the ganja. Investigations are ongoing.
Only last month, two prisoners from the Lusignan Prison were found with a quantity of ganja and several contraband items, following a raid at the correctional facility.
It was reported that prison officials conducted a search on the two inmates, during which 490 grams of cannabis were discovered in their possession.
Officers also unearthed one cellphone, one earpiece, 29 packets of cigarettes, a quantity of Ziploc bags, 12 smoking papers, a quantity of tobacco leaves, and $30,000.
Following the discovery, the suspected cannabis was weighed in their presence and amounted to 490 grams. An investigation was launched into the discovery, and the items and the inmates were taken to the Vigilance Police Station.
